Microscopes with the sixth graders!

The grade six students have had a great deal of fun learning to use microscopes.
It's fun to get up close and personal with microorganisms!
We even finally found some water bears!

Snowflakes anyone?

When we finally had snow at Trudeau it seemed only appropriate to help the buddies make snowflakes.  I noticed a few snowflakes being made in our class as well!

Here's Barry helping his buddy
Is he doing a good job?
 How fun is this?
How many seventh graders can a first grader call on for help?
Trust Balkaran to find a comfortable spot...
Nice work with the scissors, boys!
 Wow!  I made one!

Now how nice is that!  Barry is a good teacher!

working with clay

I thought I would post of few pictures of our first session with clay!  I think everyone had a great time.  Too bad we had a few people sick!  More fun this afternoon!  I am curious to see what your masks will look like when they are finished!
Everyone is watching intently as Phyllis gives instructions!
How do we wrap that newspaper?
You can see Renfil is ready to pound!
How does that clay feel?

We have had a busy time since we came back from the holidays.  It's hard to believe it has been only two weeks.  Projects, working with microscopes, etc. and so forth.  Anyway I will be posting more pictures soon but thought you would enjoy this one of Holly having a nap after she read Arshpreet's essay on Why Animals Should Not Be Used For Testing.  She totally agrees!

Happy New Year

I seem to have been on a vacation.  Anyway we had a great last few days of school!  Your books were great.

The grade six students did well in their presentations.

We had a very successful sale of Paperblank journals and I even have orders for more.  We had a nice party and the final Christmas assembly was fun as well.  And of course we had Pajama Day as well.

All in all a very good first term.  And tomorrow we are all back for more adventures. We know there are very few dull moments in Division Two!  Happy New Year!
